BBV-CERT General Meeting Minutes
September 28, 2026, Masonic Lodge
Present – Tina Fahy, Ed Williams, Susan Smith, Paul Arnold, Bob Grimes, Jim Smith, Marie Smith, Susan Antrillo, Johnny Wells, Susan Elliott, Norma Grimes
Call to Order – Susan called the meeting to order at 6:11 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance — Susan led the salute to the flag.
911 Call Assignment — Paul will call 911 in case of an emergency
Meeting Minutes – There was no general meeting in August. Instead we had live fire training at the CSD yard.
Treasurer Report – Ed Williams reported.
Sonora Cantina Taco Fundraiser — $ 1,030.00
Checking — $ 1,395.42
Savings — $10,779.82
Total– $12,175.24
Committee Report
- Fundraising Committee– Marie & Jim Smith reported that there were 35-36 donors. Some were very generous and gave more than one item.
The question was asked: how did we advertise? It was advertised on the radio, in the newspaper, on social media, and with flyers posted at businesses, the hospital, etc.
- Reports from Membership, Training and Assets Committees were not available.
New Business
- Halloween-in-the-Village volunteers needed for one hour or all evening. Candy donations are needed.
- Next basic training Oct. 23, 24 & 25. We need a minimum of 10 attendees to have the training.
Old Business – No old business.
Upcoming Meetings, Training & Other Events
- Basic CERT Training, October 23, 5-9 p.m., and October 24 & 25, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Masonic Lodge
- Halloween-in-the-Village Recruiting, October 31, 4 to 7 p.m.
- CERT End-of-the-Year Potluck Meeting, Monday, December 14th, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Recruiting Opportunities
- Advertise in the local newspaper and radio station.
- Work on social media presence.
Monthly Training – Team Building – Susan conducted a round table exercise.
Meeting Adjournment – Meeting was adjourned at 7:05.
